A dreamy summer wedding in the heart of the Pacific Northwest at Wind Mountain Ranch, surrounded by expansive meadows and breathtaking mountain views—Kenzie & Jack’s Garden Wedding in the Columbia River Gorge was nothing short of magical. It was a wedding day filled with joy, intentional details, and an unforgettable celebration of love. As a documentary-style wedding photographer based in Oregon, specializing in high-end wedding photography & capturing timeless, candid moments, I couldn’t have asked for a more picturesque day. This luxury garden wedding featured both a fresh, PNW-inspired aesthetic, as well as Kenzie & Jack’s personal touches.
Meet Kenzie & Jack: A Love Story Rooted in Connection & Live Music!
Kenzie & Jack are the kind of couple who light up every room they walk into. They share a deep joy for life, and they have a gift for bringing people together. K & J are described by their friends as fun, energetic, extroverted, and warm-hearted humans. Plus they just absolutely love planning fun events & gatherings for their people.
With that said, their journey began through a mutual friend at a bar. Shortly after, a Mt. Joy concert brought them together and truly sparked their connection. Kenzie & Jack enjoyed an unforgettable night of bonding over their love for live music. Jack then asked Kenzie out on their first official date at Bantam Tavern. After seeing each other for a month and a half, Jack asked Kenzie to be his girlfriend, to which she originally replied “no” (LOL, a funny story they now laugh about). After spending more time with Jack and seeing how effortlessly he connected with his friends, she knew that Jack was her person. A week later, they made it official.

Their choice offered stunning views of the Columbia River, towering evergreens, and of course, the majestic mountains of the Gorge. A Dreamy Summer Wedding Day
Their wedding day arrived on a perfect summer day in July—warm but not too hot, with golden sunlight painting the meadow and filtering through the trees. The atmosphere was timeless and dreamy, filled with laughter, energy, and the unmistakable magic that comes with celebrating love.
From the moment Kenzie slipped into her breathtaking gown to the sun setting on Wind Mountain, every moment radiated joy and intention. The wedding was full of fun surprises, personal touches, heartfelt moments, and unforgettable music that kept the energy high from start to finish. Some of my favorite personal touches from Kenzie & Jack included their memorial table for loved ones, their signature cocktails, personalized cornhole boards, a fun outfit change for Kenzie, and desserts from a Portland favorite, Blue Star Donuts.
Columbia River Gorge Wedding Day Flow
The morning started with Kenzie and her best friends getting ready together. Her & her bridesmaids shared laughter and excitement as they prepared for the big day. My second photographer, Val was with Jack and his groomsmen, capturing the camaraderie and pre-wedding festivities. Kenzie and Jack chose to wait until the ceremony to see each other for the first time. They wanted to experience that emotional moment as Kenzie was walking down the aisle.
To keep the surprise intact, we documented family and wedding party portraits separately before the ceremony. Then, it was time—Jack stood at the floral altar, Wind Mountain stretching behind him, as Kenzie walked down the aisle with her Dad. The moment was filled with emotion (and big smiles) as they locked eyes for the first time that day, and exchanged sweet vows.
After officially tying the knot and signing their marriage license, Kenzie and Jack were bursting with excitement. They were so stoked about officially becoming husband & wife! We moved into family portraits, then full wedding party photos, and finally, their couples’ portraits. These moments were filled with pure joy and a deep sense of connection. Documenting their love against the stunning Gorge backdrop.
Finally once portraits wrapped up, Kenzie and Jack joined their cocktail hour. They were eager to soak up time with their favorite people. Their reception was a perfect mix of meaningful toasts, sweet moments, and plenty of fun. When the dance floor opened, the energy was electric—everyone was ready to celebrate. As if the day couldn’t get any more magical, the sky turned pink. The Columbia River Gorge was suddenly painted in sunset hues. Kenzie and Jack stepped away for a quiet moment together, taking it all in before heading back to dance the night away with their guests.
Summer Wedding Design & Color Palette
The couple wanted their wedding aesthetic to feel organic yet refined, with a Pacific Northwest vibe and a summer garden wedding-inspired color palette that seamlessly blended with the natural surroundings. The palette featured subtle greens and floral pastels, including soft yellows, peaches, and blues. Every design choice—from the lush floral arrangements to the elegant signage—was made to reflect the couple’s personality while enhancing the beauty of the venue.
The event planning and design was brought to life by Kenzie & Jack’s incredible wedding planner, Katelyn, of Your Perfect Bridesmaid. The beautiful signage was thoughtfully curated by Megan, of Script On This. The floral arrangements, created by a talented local florist Good Seed Floral, featured seasonal blooms that added a whimsical and summery touch while still feeling timeless. The tablescapes were thoughtfully curated, with intentional details that made every place setting feel special and personalized.
The overall wedding theme was elegant, organic, and effortlessly beautiful.
Garden Wedding Unforgettable Moments
There are countless moments from Kenzie and Jack’s Garden Wedding in the Columbia River Gorge that will forever live rent-free in my mind. One of the most magical moments of the day was right after the ceremony. After signing their Washington marriage license, we snuck away for their wedding portraits. Having also photographed their Mt. Hood engagement session, I knew this part of the day would be effortless. Kenzie & Jack’s couples portraits were as joyful as their love story! They twirled through the open pastures at Wind Mountain Ranch, fully embracing the sweetness of their newlywed bliss. Lost in each other, they shared fun, intimate moments, completely present in the joy of the day. You can see it in their portraits—the only thing they were focused on was the connection they shared.
Another standout moment was the dance floor—it was packed from start to finish. Given that Kenzie & Jack are huge music lovers, it’s no surprise that the reception was filled with incredible energy. Their friends and family showed up ready to party, and the celebration carried on late into the night. From classic throwback hits to emotional slow dances, the playlist kept the vibes high and the memories unforgettable.
Finding A Columbia River Gorge Wedding Photographer
Kenzie found me on Instagram over a year before their wedding day. She was drawn to my documentary-style photography. Hoping to capture the natural beauty of their guests and venue in a way that felt timeless and emotive. As a photographer who specializes in luxury weddings, I focus not only on capturing images, but also on storytelling and candid moments. I document the intimacy of the people in front of my lens. Before their session, I send each couple a questionnaire designed to spark meaningful conversations and reflections. I encourage them to make a date out of it—grabbing a coffee or drink together while going through the questions.
